KOSHER POP UPS

WHAT WE DO
If it’s foodie-related, I’ll give it a go!
When I first started out, my dream was to become a food writer. I began freelancing and writing for publications including The Nosher, The Jewish Chronicle, and The London Jewish News. Alongside this, I built my social media platform, where I share recipes, food inspiration and my love of cooking, and have collaborated with brands such as Kosher Kingdom, Kosher Deli and Abe & Joe.
Before long, my enthusiasm got the better of me and I started spreading my wings beyond writing. I began hosting cooking evenings both at my home and within the community. What started as simple cookery gatherings quickly became something more meaningful — bringing people together, connecting through food, and celebrating the joy of cooking.
After travelling to America, I was inspired by the kosher dining scene and the attitude towards kosher food. I saw restaurants that were not defined by being kosher, but rather were simply great restaurants that happened to be kosher. Inspired by this, I set out to bring a little of that same energy and glamour to the London kosher dining scene. For the past year I have been running regular kosher pop-ups at Arros QD restaurant, and more recently I launched a new residency of pop-up supper clubs that showcase exciting cuisines and talented chefs, all while maintaining full kashrus.
MEET CHEF JOANNA NISSIM
From a young age, I have loved food and everything associated with it—whether cooking, reading about it, or simply enjoying it. Three years ago, when my daughter started nursery, I decided it was now or never to change careers and follow my passion. I haven’t looked back since.
Today, I am a passionate food writer, recipe developer, cookery teacher, and proud foodie. I enjoy cooking a wide range of cuisines, but I am particularly passionate about preserving and sharing the traditions of my family’s Sephardic recipes, keeping these flavours and stories alive for future generations.
Whilst I adore my work and challenging myself at every opportunity, it will always be my role as a wife and mummy that comes first. My family are my greatest inspiration, and the heart of everything I do in the kitchen and beyond.
